Good start Marat. Well done on your win against Petzschner (glad I don't have to spell that one much more) - now listen to your Fairy Godmother and keep it up. She gives you free coaching - take advantage.

Bangkok, September 2009

Aloha, just got back from Pitlochry yesterday ... and had a stinking cold the whole week. Think all the hotel guests thought I had swine flu. I didn't. Just a snotty nose and a high temperature ... baggy, red-rimmed eyes ... constant sneezing, sweating, wheezing and coughing. Other than that, I was damned gorgeous - although it's only me saying that. At least I managed to sit relatively quietly through 5 plays at the theatre ... although I did almost hyperventilate early in the week whilst trying to suppress a cough at a key point of a play. Swear I thought one of the attendants was ready to start CPR on me.

Anyway, for a short period of time we can still comment on the Big Yin's farewell tour before he goes mountaineering full time. Apparently he won his doubles match with Simon today (you listened to me, for once, my Big Pixie). Well done to both of them. God practice for the singles. Tomorrow my Big Pixie plays Petzschner. Hope it's on a livestream ... and I ain't sitting at work wheezing over the keyboard.

FG

PS The Davis Cup tie probably brought on the breakdown in my immune system. What an utter disaster. John Lloyd plays someone who has never played a DC rubber in the decider that would decree who ends up relegated to the Rubber Duck Zone. Aaaargh. Think Andy will be telling them to get stuffed when it comes to future DC ties. Fleming and Skupsi should have been in the team for the doubles. They are showing a lot of flair at the moment as a team.

Think I will apply for John Lloyd's job when it comes up.

Hallo! Hallo! Boys, girls and anything in between, the bitch is here!

Thank you, Fairy Godmother, for letting me in and for having such an initiative! I have considered it myself, but I'm afraid I'm way too lazy... with fans like me, Big Yin's precious memory would be lost for the generations to come! Pretty much like Atlantis and I’m not sure the human race could make it again.

Anyway, looking forward to share maratful and maratless topics with all those wonderful people around the world, who share our interest in all things Marat Safin, global warming and similar major topics!

And although I didn't check it with FG, I hope that no restrictive, official-forum-like policies apply here... as I intend to make a complete full of myself by discussing anything and everything that was tabu on the other forums (yes, that kind of things!)!

Big Yin better provides some proper subjects pronto and restrains himself from suing me!

Kisses,

Late Masha of the late TGFR

Technical arse-up: number one, September 2009

Don't reboot!!!

Having now had a flurry of queries on how to post a comment, I've read up on the technical bits of this bloggy thingy.

Apparently I must 'invite you via your email address'. Send me a personal message via tgfr with your email, and I'll add you in. Good grief. I thought this would be a skoosh ... I set up a post and then you could comment. Plus, I'm only allowed 100 authors who can post - everybody else can 'read only'.

You may also have to register to be a member ... sorry guys. My only other option would be to open it 'to the world' ...

Even I ain't that daft. LMAO.

TGFR crew

Okay guys, time to hit the keyboard again and christen this blog thingy.

I hereby officially open this blog and welcome you in to indulge once more in our rants on tennis, life after the Big Yin ... and anything else that takes our fancy in the world of literature, the performing arts, politics ... beach volleyball (?)

I'll get a few threads going for you all at the weekend. Now, I'm heading to bed ... last night's USO final has hit what's left of my brain cells. I'm a gibbering wreck ... and nobody's noticed.

Worrying.
